Writing Guidelines

TechTransform, 19 June 2001: I assembled these materials to train writers at a previous startup. Dating back to the late nineties, they remain valuable.
People rarely read Web pages word by word; instead, they scan the page, picking out individual words and sentences.
There are many articles on the web on how to write a press release, but I found Jim Powell's to be a great insider's take on how actually to get published.
Got any more useful guidelines? Send them to me and I'll post them here.

Alex Eckelberry just pointed me to this related e-newsletter article from Ziff- Davis Media: "The Value of the Press Release", including "Writing a Press Release.
Thank you Alex!
